Ever seen a Pro Football Hall of Fame ring? Check out Andre Reed's bling (12:16 PM)
Yahoo! Sports: The hands that had 951 career receptions during a sparkling 16-year NFL career now has some Pro Football Hall of Fame bling and Yahoo Sports has the first look at Andre Reed's Ring of Excellence. Set in 14K gold with a total diamond weight of 1¾ carats, Reed will receive his ring this Sunday when the Buffalo Bills honor him at halftime. Reed spent 15 years with the Bills and had all but 10 of his career receptions with one of the most prolific offenses in NFL history. Reed could never get a Super Bowl ring with the Bills, despite four trips to the Super Bowl, but the group that has a Hall of Fame ring is much more exclusive. On one side of the ring is Reed's likeness along with his position and years played (Which leads to the question of will ‘Personal Punt Protector’ be on Tim Tebow’s ring? Ah, never mind). Each Hall of Fame ring is produced by Kay Jewelers, the official jewelry store of the Pro Football Hall of Fame as well as the official designer of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Ring. Every enshrinement begins with Kay, apparently. The diamonds on the ring create a stadium-like effect upon first glance and the large blue gemstone was chosen to project the “ confidence, power and integrity ” of those in the Hall of Fame. Opposite of Reed's likeness on the ring is the Pro Football Hall of Fame's logo as well as the year of his acceptance to the hall.  The No. 285 emblazoned on the ring refers to his personal induction number, determined each year alphabetically among that year’s recipients. Here are more angles of Reed's ring:

Trying to follow up on the thrilling win, Cutler looks to continue his sensational play Monday night when his banged-up Bears visit a Jets team trying to regroup from a collapse. Shutdown Corner NFL Power Rankings: So who should be No. 1? (12:52 AM)
Yahoo! Sports: If you knew nothing about the NFL before Sept. 4, were dropped in and watched the first two weeks and had to determine the best team in the NFL just off that, the answer would be easy. It's the Cincinnati Bengals. It's not particularly close, either. In Week 1, the Bengals played very well in a road win against the Ravens. Four days later, the Ravens looked phenomenal against the Steelers. The Falcons couldn't be stopped against the Saints in a Week 1 win. Then Atlanta played Cincinnati, and the Falcons didn't score until deep into the fourth quarter when the game's result was not in doubt anymore. Also, the Bengals won that game without their best player, receiver A.J. Green, who left early with a toe injury. The Bengals' defense looks like one of the best in the NFL. The offense has a lot of playmakers. They have been dominant in both games. So are they the best team in the NFL? I'll explain here: I don't do these power rankings in a one- or two-game vacuum. If you want something that ranks teams in exact order of their win-loss record, this link has the only power rankings you'll need. It's not always that easy. I don't think 2-0 Houston would beat 0-2 New Orleans on a neutral field, and I doubt you do either. Similarly, I'm not quite ready to buy into Andy Dalton and Marvin Lewis being the leaders of the best team in the NFL. But they're creeping up. A few more dominant weeks like the first one, and they'll be in the discussion. They've clearly moved into the small group of teams that is clearly good enough to be called a Super Bowl contender. But I don't think they should be No. 1. So who is, after the 49ers' loss? Let's go to the post-Week 2 power rankings. 32. Oakland Raiders (0-2, LW: 30) They're likely going to be underdogs in each of their last 14 games. It's hard to figure out how Dennis Allen saves his job.

Chargers RB Mathews has sprained MCL in right knee (7:43 PM)
Yahoo! Sports: San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews has a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee and will be out for an undetermined amount of time. Mathews was taken off the field on a cart Sunday after hurting his knee trying to recover his own fumble in the fourth quarter of a 30-21 victory against the Seattle Seahawks. The Chargers didn't say to what degree the ligament was injured, which would help narrow down how long Mathews is expected to be out. ''In all fairness to him and the training staff, everyone recovers differently,'' coach Mike McCoy said Monday.
